Is it legal to use multiple real estate agents at the same time to help sell my house? Or must I chose 1?

I know I can meet with multiple potential agents to evaluate my house before putting it on the market. But when I am ready to sell, is it legal to use the services of multiple agents to sell my house at the same time (considering that the agent who finds me the buyer leading to a successful sale will be compensated by commission) to increase the number of possible buyers and the possibility of selling at an optimum price?

As long as you don’t break any contract or agreement you have with any of the realtors then probably not. Afterall, you do not have to legally use a realtor to see, or buy, real estate. But, they probably won’t agree to this kind of deal, and I don’t blame them. Find ONE hard-working realtor and make sure they keep you at the top their list. Anyway, how would a prospective buyer even know who to call? You would have two signs? Two listings online?? For the same property?? Confusing.
Don’t try to hide one realtor from the other. They WILL run into each other while bringing people to look at the house. Then you will be dropped and may be banned from dealing with the entire company. -

You would end up paying them all the commission. You need to pick one. They would all be entitled to their share of the commission if you have multiple contracts.

You can use as many agents as you desire. HOWEVER, bear in mind that you will owe the brokerage commission to which you agreed to each brokerage involved. In other words, you do NOT want to do this.
If you sign three brokerage agreements with three different firms, you will owe the full commission to all three firms. This might cost you 18-20%of your sale price.

I am a Realtor and while this is perfectly legal only if the listing contract you signed was an open listing contract. If not you owe every single Realtor a commision regardless of who finds the buyer even if you find the buyer. Mostly all Realtors work together whether they work for the same office or not. Increasing the number of Realtors dosent neccessarily mean you have more of a chance to find a buyer. To keep yourself out of a jam use one GOOD Realtor.
