  • Are there any realtors/real estate agents who hold a real estate license in more than one state?

    ♥Bo$$ Lady Enterprises♥ asked:

If so, how do you conduct real estate business in more than one state. I am asking because, I’d like to get a real estate license in another state, in addition to my home state. Please answer only if you actually have more than one real estate license. Thanks so much♥

sure. any metro area near a border has agents licensed in both states.

i have a license in two states.

it’s really not any different than having a license in just one state because unless you have a metro area that spills over into another state, you won’t get much “two state” business.

for example, let’s say you had a license in missouri, and you worked in saint louis…there is a big portion of the suburbs in saint louis that are in illinois. so, it’s possible that someone might want to sell a house in illinois and buy one in missouri, you could help with both sides of that sale.

i have one in missorui and nevada. i live in missouri, but i go out to nevada for a few weeks each year and work out there and see my friends.

      Hi Boss Lady -
I am licensed in both Colorado, where I live, and Arizona, where I own rental property. I keep the AZ license in case I want to sell or buy anything else in AZ. I would certainly not try to do resale business for other people when I don’t live in the state anymore, but I want to keep up with the laws and the market there – and I’ve never been happy with the services of another real estate agent when trying to buy or sell my own property! I am my own broker in both states – if you work under a designated broker, you will need the permission and blessing of both brokers to hold licenses in 2 states.
